The Saints open their 2022-23 season with four consecutive home games, including Thursday's home opener against New Hampshire. The four straight home games are the most to start a season since the 2010-11 season when the Saints opened with five straight home games – with four coming at the UHY Center. The Saints are coming off an 85-43 victory over the Post University Eagles last Friday at the UHY Center in their final exhibition.
The programs will meet for the ninth time, as the Wildcats hold a 5-3 advantage in the series. Siena and New Hampshire squared off in Durham last November, as the Wildcats took a 59-45 win at Lundholm Gymnasium. Rayshel Brown had a standout performance, scoring 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting afternoon and adding a team-high eight rebounds.
Anajah Brown made her collegiate debut, scoring six points and snagging seven rebounds. New Hampshire was led by a 21 point effort from Amanda Torres, as she would go 8-for-11 from the floor with five assists.
New Hampshire comes into the match having won their opening game of the season in an 83-24 victory over Colby-Sawyer (DIII) College. The Wildcats are picked to finish seventh in the America East Preseason Poll, as they return captains Paige Cote and Kenzie Matulonis. Cote appeared in 14 of 28 games last season averaging 2.4 points, 1.0 rebounds and 9.9 minutes per game. Cote was second among rookies for the Wildcats and sixth overall in scoring while she ranked #12 in America East in blocks per game (0.8). Matulonis played in 24 of 28 games in her rookie season with the 'Cats last year. She averaged 2.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 18.3 minutes per game.

Siena posted a 10-19 overall record last season, and finished fifth in the MAAC with a 10-10 league mark. Picked ninth in this year's preseason poll, the Saints return just five letter winners while welcoming 11 newcomers – including nine true freshmen – to a squad searching to build off of their success in Jabir's first year at the helm of the program since 1990.
