Saints Set to Battle Bonnies Under Bright Lights in Downtown Albany

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Looking to bounce back from a loss in the Albany Cup Sunday afternoon, the Siena Women's Basketball team returns to the floor in downtown Albany at MVP Arena as they take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at 5 p.m. in the front end of a doubleheader with the Siena men's team.

Complimentary online audio of the broadcast can also be accessed by clicking the corresponding link through iHeart Radio.

Fans can also follow along with the corresponding live stats link, while continuous in-game press row updates will be provided via the women's basketball team's official twitter page @Siena_WBB. Join the conversation by using the hashtags #MarchOn, #SienaSaints, and #MAACHoops.

The Saints play their third of four straight home games to begin the season – with this game against St. Bonaventure the first one technically away from the UHY Center. The four straight home games are the most to start a season since the 2010-11 season when the Saints opened with five straight home games – with four coming at the UHY Center.

Siena is coming off a tough loss to UAlbany on Sunday in the Albany Cup at the UHY Center. Despite being down by as many as 21 points in the second half, the Siena Saints pulled within six points late as they fell to the UAlbany Great Danes by a final score of 64-57. Freshman Teresa Seppala led the Saints with 15 points, with 13 points coming in the second half. Sophomore Anajah Brown scored 11 points with six rebounds, and freshman London Gamble scored 11 points for her first career double-digit performance.

The programs will meet for the 24th time, as the Saints hold a 13-10 advantage in the series. Siena and St. Bonaventure squared off last season in Olean, with the Bonnies prevailing 50-42. St. Bonaventure has won four of the last five meetings dating back to 2005-06. However, the last time these two teams played in downtown Albany at MVP Arena (then Pepsi Arena) the Saints took a 72-47 victory.

St. Bonaventure looks to bounce back from a 66-58 defeat against ETSU last Friday at the Reilly Center. The Bonnies finished the contest shooting 38.5 percent (20-for-52) from the floor and the Buccaneers shot 49 percent (24-for-49). St. Bonaventure is looking to avoid their first 0-3 start to a season since the 2000-01 campaign which started 0-4.

2022-23 Siena Women's Basketball season tickets starting at $128 ($40 for kids) are on-sale now, and can be secured by logging onto sienasaints.com/tickets, or by contacting the Siena Fan Relations Management Center during traditional business hours Monday-Friday by phone at (518) 487-2202, or by e-mail at sienatickets2@siena.edu. Siena posted a 10-19 overall record last season, and finished fifth in the MAAC with a 10-10 league mark. Picked ninth in this year's preseason poll, the Saints return just five letter winners while welcoming 11 newcomers – including nine true freshmen – to a squad searching to build off of their success in Jabir's first year at the helm of the program since 1990.
