Jacksonville State scored six times in the sixth inning to complete the weekend sweep of Siena Baseball in a 14-8 Sunday slugfest in Alabama.
Matt Livingston and
Alex Milone each recorded multi-RBI efforts, with Livingston and
Devan Kruzinski posting a pair of hits apiece.
The teams accounted for 17 combined runs in the fifth through seventh innings in a seesaw slugfest. Siena (0-9) scored three times in the top of the sixth to reclaim a 6-5 advantage, with Kruzinski capping the frame with a 2-out, go-ahead run-scoring single.
But Jacksonville State (4-6) counter punched with six runs on six hits in their half of the frame to reclaim an 11-6 lead they would not relinquish. Cole Frederick punctuated the rally with the go-ahead three run homer.
The Saints got a pair of runs back to pull within three in the seventh on back-to-back RBI doubles by
Kobe Stenson and Livingston, but couldn't get any closer.
Siena returns to South Carolina next weekend for its second trip to the Palmetto State already this season. The Saints take on The Citadel for a three-game series beginning with doubleheader action Saturday at 1 p.m. in Charleston.
