Marist Takes Rubber Game, Series From Saints

Red Foxes Prevail 10-2 at Central Park

SCHENECTADY, NY – Marist scored three runs in the fifth and put things away with a four-run seventh to take the rubber game and series from Siena Baseball 10-2 at Central Park.

Marist (13-10, 3-3) pushed across a pair of quick scores in the first on a two-run double by Robbie Armitage to take a lead they would not relinquish. Siena (6-19, 4-2) halved the deficit in the third when Ryan McGee stole second, and the errant throw allowed Matt Livingston to trot home from third.

But the one unearned run was all that the Saints could muster offensively against Alex Pansini, who allowed just three hits while walking only two and striking out 10 over 7.1 innings to earn the win for the Red Foxes.

Meanwhile, Marist tacked on a three-spot in the fifth capped by a two-run single by Dylan Hoy, while Johnny Decker's seventh inning grand slam proved to be the death knell.

McGee was on base three times atop the Siena order with a pair of hits, and recorded the team's lone RBI.

Siena continues its season-long nine-game homestand when they host Fordham in mid-week non-conference action Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Connors Park.
