LOUDONVILLE, NY – Army West Point worked 11 walks and stole nine bases to defeat Siena Baseball 8-3 in midweek non-conference action at Connors Park.
Despite the traffic on the base paths, Siena (7-20) was able to limit the damage for the most of the afternoon.
Brendan Quigley tossed 5.1 effective innings of relief, and kept the Saints knocking on the door at just a 3-2 deficit through five.
But Army West Point (12-15) finally broke through with a three-run sixth and added two more insurance runs in the ninth to complete the season sweep. The Black Knights also captured the first midweek meeting between the teams by a 15-5 final two Wednesday's ago in West Point.
Matt Livingston stayed hot in pacing Siena offensively. He reached base three more times with a pair of hits and an RBI, while also scoring a run.
Following its season-long nine-game homestand, Siena will now play its next eight games away from home, beginning with a return to MAAC action this weekend. The Saints start a three-game series with Manhattan Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Pace University in Pleasantville, New York.
