Fairfield scored in five of the first six innings capped by a six-run sixth to take the middle game of the series from Siena Baseball 15-4 in Connecticut.
Fairfield (30-19, 17-5) jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead capped by a Matt Zaffino three-run home run and never looked back. The Stags, who hit three home runs in the series-opener Thursday, added four more Friday to pull even for first-place in the MAAC Standings with idle Marist.
Siena (11-36, 8-14) tallied two runs apiece in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, to account for their scoring.
Vincent DiNicola delivered a two-run single in the sixth, while
Chris Erickson added an RBI double in the seventh. Eight different Saints registered one hit apiece.
Senior southpaw
Ben Seiler struck out four over 4.1 innings to finish with 86 for the season, marking the fifth most in program single-season history, and just seven off the record of 93 set by Brendan White in 2019.
Siena will look to salvage the series in the season finale Saturday at 1 p.m.
