Phoenix Bowman hit the go-ahead RBI triple as part of a three-run eighth as Iona rallied past Siena Baseball 7-5 in the rubber game of the series in New Rochelle. The Gaels scored six of their seven runs over their final three innings at bat to overcome a 4-1 deficit heading into the home half of the sixth.
 
Siena (10-32, 7-11) mustered only six hits but worked nine walks to take an early advantage. The Saints scored a pair of runs in back-to-back innings in the third and fourth to claim a 4-1 lead. Bryce Mordecki got the scoring started with a two-run single in the third, and then followed a Willie Schwarick RBI single with a bases loaded walk in the fourth for his eighth RBI of the series.
 
But Iona (5-38, 5-16) chipped away with two runs in the sixth and, after Siena pushed the lead back to a pair in the seventh, rallied within one once again in the home half of the frame.
 
The Gaels then sent eight men to the plate during the decisive eighth, pounding out four hits. Luca Lotito tied it at five, before Bowman put Iona in front for good, and then came into score an insurance run on an RBI single by Jake Field.
 
The Saints return to action when they welcome Monmouth to Connors Park for the start of a three-game weekend series Friday at 3 p.m.
