LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Lacrosse fifth-year
Nicole McNeely continues to add to her postseason trophy case, as she was named to the All-ECAC Team on Thursday afternoon. The award comes after becoming the second all-time participant from Siena to compete in the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game.
After not receiving an All-MAAC selection a year ago, McNeely became the first player in program history to win the Offensive Player of the Year award. She did earn Preseason All-MAAC honors, and lived up to the billing. She ranked 13th nationally in assists (39) and 14th in assists per game (2.17) – while also coming up 21st nationally in points (87). The Wallingford, Pennsylvania native led the MAAC in ground balls per game (2.72), and ranked sixth in both draw controls per game (4.72) and free position percentage (.476).
She broke Siena's career records for goals, assists, and points this season, while also breaking or eclipsing the previous single-season records in all three categories as well. She was recognized by USA Lacrosse Magazine as having one of the more "efficient" games in NCAA Division I in the last five years with her five goal, two assist, six ground ball, four draw control game against Colgate. McNeely became the first player in program history to reach 200 career points, and was twice named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Other MAAC selections joining McNeely on the All-ECAC Team were Cassidy Orban from Monmouth and Kelly Horning from Fairfield.
