LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Athletics will once again partner with the American Cancer Society to participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk of Albany, which supports the ACS's support services and lifesaving research. The 2022 edition of the walk will take place on Sunday, October 16 at 10:00 AM in downtown Albany's Washington Park. The general public is encouraged with Siena's student-athletes and coaches, and join in raising money and awareness towards the fight against breast cancer.
"We are looking forward to joining the Albany community again this year for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk," said Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator Angie Jabir. "Our coaches and student-athletes are thankful for the opportunity to increase awareness around this important cause."
Siena Athletics student-athletes, coaches, and support staff will again be active in both walking and raising money to support the American Cancer Society through the department's official sign-up portal.
The department's Under Armour breast cancer awareness online store has also returned, and will feature a wide selection of pink official Siena Saints gear to help raise awareness for breast cancer and celebrate survivors. The online store will be open from Monday, September 12 until Monday, September 26, and will re-open during October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month from Monday, October 3 until Monday, October 17. The American Cancer Society started Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks to unite communities in the fight against the deadly disease that is breast cancer. Today, Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation – and is more than just a walk.
