LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Women's Tennis program and head coach
Jeff Osborn have announced the signing of three players to the roster – including two freshman and one transfer. The Saints are adding
Reegan Mullaney,
Alexa Wilson, and
Madeline De Faber-Schumacher, and will be ready to go this weekend in the Saints' opening Invitational.
No stranger to Loudonville, Mullaney comes in from Edina, Minnesota. Her sister, Kylie, is a Siena Women's Tennis alum and helped the Saints to an NCAA Tournament berth in the spring of 2021. While she played for the Northern section, she held a top five spot in the lineup. Mullaney competed in National Zonals, National Hard Courts, and National Clay Courts tournaments. During her high school career, she was at one point ranked No. 1 on the Tennis Recruiting Network's "Hot 100 List".
The lone transfer of the group, Wilson makes her way to Siena by way of Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. In two years with the Blue Hose, she collected six singles wins and seven doubles victories. She racked up Big South All-Conference Second Team honors, one Big South Freshman of the Week award, and two ITA Scholar Athlete Awards. Prior to her time in South Carolina, Wilson came from England where she was the UK Independent School Doubles Champion, and reached both 16u and 18u national championship quarterfinals. Wilson was ranked #1 in her county in 14u, 16u, and 18u in tennis. Wilson was also a regional field hockey player and national schools finalist in field hockey.
DeFaber-Schumacher is a native of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and is coming to Siena as a walk-on for the Saints. She went undefeated in high school, going a perfect 26-0 at #2 Singles. She earned All-Region honors, and was a two-time Pennsylvania District 2 Class 2A Doubles Champion. She was also a two-time Pennsylvania State Bronze Doubles Medalist and two-time First Team All-Star. DeFaber-Schumacher is a former Top 10 USTA Middle States Player on the high school list.
Siena Women's Tennis looks to recapture their magic from last season, earning the program's first regular season title since 2005-06 with a 5-1 MAAC record. Siena returns Meghan Brown and MAAC Rookie of the Year
Laia Giralt in the top two lineup spots, with upperclassmen
Maanya Viswanath and
Emma Boggiali providing veteran leadership in the lineup.
