Women’s Basketball Announces Full 2022-23 Schedule

Saints Release Full 31-Game Slate for Upcoming Season

LOUDONVILLE, NY – A program-record 31 regular season games are on tap for the Siena Women's Basketball team in 2022-23, as the MAAC released their league schedule on Thursday morning. Siena will play 16 total regular season home games on the season in total – also a new program record for the Green and Gold.

"This year's MAAC schedule will be a great test for our team," said head coach Jim Jabir. "I am excited to see how our team grows through our non-conference season and perform in league play. With a young team, I am eager to see them grow in front of our fans as the season goes along."

The Saints released their non-conference schedule earlier this week, announcing their 11-game slate that will kick off the season on Nov. 10. Siena will play six of their 11 games at home in non-conference play, aiding the Saints new program-record 16 home games in the regular season.

Siena will play a 20-game balance schedule, with 10 games each at home and on the road. The Saints open their 2022-23 conference slate against the newest member of the MAAC, Mount St. Mary's on Monday, Dec. 19 before heading to Fairleigh Dickinson for their final non-conference matchup of the year. The Saints will back up their matchup in Emmitsburg, Maryland with a road matchup at Rider (Dec. 29) before a three-game homestand.

Siena kicks off their three-game homestand starting on New Year's Day in 2023 against Canisius before also hosting last year's MAAC Champion Fairfield (Jan. 5) and I-87 rival Marist (Jan. 7). The Saints defeated the Stags last season in the UHY Center, giving Fairfield their only conference loss of the season. Last season was also the first time since 2003-04 that the Saints swept Marist in a season series.

Other home highlights for the Saints will be back-to-back matchups with Manhattan (Feb. 9) and Niagara (Feb. 11). Manhattan made a run to the MAAC championship game a year ago, while the Saints will look for their revenge against the Purple Eagles in their first matchup since Niagara topped the Saints in the MAAC Quarterfinals.

The Saints end their MAAC season with four of five of their final games on the road – with their one home game as Senior Day on Feb. 25 against perennial MAAC frontrunner Quinnipiac. The four road games in the series will bring the Saints to Iona (Feb. 16), their return game to Poughkeepsie at Marist (Feb. 18), and west to Buffalo to take on Niagara (Mar. 2) and Canisius (Mar. 4).

2022-23 Siena Women's Basketball season tickets starting at $128 ($40 for kids) are on-sale now, and can be secured by logging onto sienasaints.com/tickets, or by contacting the Siena Fan Relations Management Center during traditional business hours Monday-Friday by phone at (518) 487-2202, or by e-mail at sienatickets2@siena.edu. Single game tickets for the Albany Cup women's game at the UHY Center are also available – with prices at $10 for chairback seats, $8 for general admission, and $5 for kids.

Siena posted a 10-19 overall record last season and finished fifth in the MAAC with a 10-10 league mark. The Saints return just five letterwinners while welcoming eight newcomers – including six true freshmen – to a squad searching to build off their success in Jabir's first year at the helm of the program since 1990.
