Box Score PROVIDENCE, RI – Siena Men's Tennis kicked off a multi-match weekend which includes its 2023 spring home opener against a tough regional foe. The Saints (2-2) dropped a 5-2 decision at Brown inside the Brown Indoor Tennis Courts in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears took the second and third doubles matches to claim the first point, with the pairings of Dante Russo & Edward Vo and Jose Pablo Davila & Tomas del Olmo taking identical 6-3 losses.
Russo went on to take a straight set victory over Brown's Alex Finkelstein in the #1 singles matchup with 6-4 and 6-3 set wins, while Vo was victorious in the #5 match over Alexander Koong. After dropping a 6-2 opening set and taking a 6-2 win of his own, Vo claimed a 10-6 win in set number three.
Brown used wins as the #2, #3, #4, and #6 spots to wrap up the win, with del Olmo, Suarez, and Maxwell Acri falling in straight sets, while Pablo Davila dropped a three-set decision at the #4 spot.
Siena returns to the Capital Region for its first home action of the calendar year on Sunday, January 29, with both the men's and women's teams set to host LIU at Latham's Tri-City Fitness at 1:45 PM.
