Siena Women's Tennis had a strong showing in singles play on the first day of the ITA Northeast Regionals played at Harvard's Beren Tennis Center in Cambridge, MA Friday.
 
"The Siena women represented well, advancing three singles players at the ITA regionals," said Siena assistant tennis coach Brendan Boutin."
 
Junior Laia Giralt improved to 5-1 in singles play this season, outlasting graduate student Vitalina Golud of Sacred Heart 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 to advance to the round of 64 on Saturday. 
 
Senior Emma Boggiali upped her record to 3-1 in singles competition after defeating Madison Warren of Stonehill 6-4, 6-2. 
 
Freshman Manuela Gomez also won in straight sets, knocking off Stonehill's Camila Zuluaga Rodriguez
 
In doubles competition, Alexa Wilson and Giralt split their matches. 

The duo picked up an 8-4 win against Ciara O'Toole and Katsiaryna Starastsenka before falling to Polina Kozyreva and Ines Fonte 8-1. 
 
The Saints continue play in the ITA Northeast Regionals in day two action on Saturday beginning at 9 AM.
