Women’s Basketball Inks Two to Class of 2028

Saints Sign Allison O’Hanlon and Zoe Richardson

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Basketball head coach Jim Jabir announced the signing of two incoming freshmen to his roster on Friday as part of the 2023 National Signing Day. The team officially welcomed Allison O'Hanlon and Zoe Richardson to the Siena family as part of its incoming class of 2028.

We are very excited to have Allison and Zoe," Jabir said. "They are both very smart players who are extremely hard-working and have a great respect for the game. They both come from great high school and AAU programs. We are very excited about their futures and think that they will help us a lot moving forward."

A star at nearby Duanesburg High School and a native of Delanson, New York, O'Hanlon is a two-time All-State selection who has taken home a rap sheet of honors for her play, including winning League MVP each year, multiple All-Sectional and First Team All-League honors, and multiple All-Star team selections from the Albany Times Union, Daily Gazette, and WNYT. Currently the all-time leading scorer at Duanesburg, she has the potential to finish as one of the top scorers and three-point shooters in NYS Section II history entering her senior season. The 5'8 guard plays AAU basketball for the Albany Capitals.

A native of Auckland, New Zealand and set to be the second product of the South Pacific to join the program, Richardson attends Hoosac Prep School in nearby Hoosick, New York, and plays alongside O'Hanlon for the Albany Capitals. The 6'1 guard/forward has played as a member of the New Zealand U14 team and the New Zealand U17 FIBA 3x3 Team, and won a New Zealand High School Championship in 2022.

Currently 1-0 for the second straight season, Siena is scheduled to graduate only one senior at the end of the year, and boasts 75 percent of its roster (nine of 12 players) as underclassmen this year.
