The Saints began the month of December by traveling across town for an Albany Cup matchup last Saturday, falling in a 76-58 decision to the Great Danes at the brand-new Broadview Center. Despite a one-point deficit at the half thanks to a half court buzzer beater from senior
Ahniysha Jackson, the Green and Gold were unable to withstand a second half scoring barrage, outscored, 39-22.
Elisa Mevius continued to steady the team in scoring with 17 points and a second-high six steals for the third time this season, while junior
Valencia Fontenelle-Posson added 12 points for her fourth straight game in double-figures. Siena rebounded shooting-wise from its previous contest at 41.2 percent from the field, but were outrebounded, 36-21.
Siena continues to boast multiple players who rank at or near the top in the conference or nationally in statistical categories. Mevius currently leads the MAAC in minutes per-game (38.3), total steals (26), and steals per-game (5.2), and ranks second nationally in steals per-contest, third in minutes per-game, and 11
th in total steals. The Rendsburg, Germany native also comes in third in both points per-game (16.2) and field goal percentage (51.3). Junior

th nationally, while ranking second in the MAAC with 10 total swats.
Dating back to 1985, Siena is a perfect 7-0 against the Rams, and does not have a more perfect record without a loss against any other team. The Saints and their A10 foes last met during the 2010-11 season, with Siena carving out a narrow 49-47 victory in The Bronx on Dec. 30, 2010. The two teams met consistently during the late 1980's and played once as MAAC members during the 1989-90 campaign. Siena is 3-0 at home against Fordham, with the last meeting in Loudonville coming in 1990.
Coach Jabir owns a 16-2 record all-time against the Rams during his 35-year coaching career, including 3-0 while at Siena. Siena's last win against an Atlantic 10 program came on December 16, 2018 in a 64-59 home win over UMass, with the team dropping five straight non-league games to A10 opponents (UMass, St. Bonaventure twice, Duquesne twice) since then.
Led by first year head coach Bridgette Mitchell, Fordham enters Thursday's contest in the midst of a four-game road trip, having fallen in a 75-73 overtime contest at Duquesne Tuesday evening in its A10 opener. Coach Mitchell served as an assistant coach on Ali Jaques' staff at Siena from 2014-16, helping the Saints to their most recent 20-win campaign and to the WBI finals during the 2014-15 season. Picked to finish 13
th in the A10 Preseason Poll, the Rams boast reigning conference Player of the Week Taylor Donalsdon, who currently leads the league in scoring with 18.9 points per-game.
