Siena and Boston College last met just over 20 years ago, when the two teams played a home-and-home series which culminated with a meeting at the then-Pepsi Arena in Downtown Albany. The Eagles represent the Saints' first ACC opponent since 2016, second Massachusetts-based opponent of the season (Merrimack), and 11th total ACC foe that the Saints have faced (0-10 all-time).
Siena head coach
Jim Jabir is 3-8 all-time against Boston College during his 36-year coaching career. Boston College boasts a Siena connection elsewhere within its athletic department, as BC head football coach Jeff Hafley is a 2001 Siena graduate who played football for the Saints.
With a record of 4-23 against high major opponents since 2000 and 0-10 all-time against the ACC, Siena will look to grab a win over a high major team for the first time since a 20-point road smackdown at Xavier in the 2015 WBI Quarterfinals. The Green and Gold will also look to end a four-game losing skid when playing in the state of Massachusetts, dating back to 2012.
Led by sixth-year head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee, Boston College has won each of its last two contests by exactly 38 points, including a 91-53 triumph over UMass-Lowell on Dec. 3 and a 93-59 victory over UMass on Dec. 6. The Eagles boast a 4-1 home record this year and have won three straight at home after dropping a 66-59 decision to Harvard on Nov. 9. Junior Andrea Daley leads four players averaging double-digit scoring with 16.2 points per-game, while sophomore Teya Sidberry averages 6.8 rebounds per-contest to go with 14 points a game.
