Depth of lineup and a gutsy effort by their number one-ranked singles player got the Siena Women's Tennis team just enough to solidify a 4-3 road victory at Providence on Sunday.
The Saints (3-5) were primarily bolstered by their backend singles players from the fourth through sixth positions as
Emma Boggiali,
Madeline De Faber-Schumacher and
Jade Gautier all earned straight set victories to put Siena in position.
With the score locked at three apiece, it came down to number one player
Meagan Brown against Friars senior Katie Mulvey. After dropping the first set 7-6, Brown fought back to win the final two sets 6-4, 6-2 to clinch the team victory.
Next, Siena travels to face Bucknell (5-6) on Friday at 7 p.m.
