Blake DeLamielleure delivered the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the eighth as Jacksonville rallied past Siena Baseball 2-1 in a pitchers' duel in the series-opener in Florida.
Arlo Marynczak allowed just one hit through five shutout innings while walking three and striking out six in an impressive performance. But Siena (0-4) was only able to muster one run of support for the third straight game.
The Saints jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Aiden Stewart worked a two-out walk, stole second, and scored on an RBI single by
Vincent DiNicola. However, Siena was only able to add two more hits the rest of the evening against Evan Chrest and a pair of relievers.
Jacksonville (2-3) knotted things up on an RBI single by Chase Malloy in the seventh. Chandler Howard then doubled to lead off the eighth, advanced to second on a ground out, and scored what proved to be the winning run on the decisive sac fly.
Tommy Allman tossed four hitless innings with one walk and four strikeouts to earn the win for the Dolphins.
The teams will continue their four-game weekend series Saturday with doubleheader action beginning at 1 p.m.
