Box Score Siena Women's Tennis got off to a slow start before falling at Bucknell 5-2 in Hersey, PA in a match that went late Friday night and into early Saturday morning.
Despite losing the first four matches, the Saints (3-6) showed resolve and earned a pair of hard-fought victories from junior
Alexa Wilson and freshman
Madeline De Faber-Schumacher.
Wilson defeated Anna Lajos 7-6 (5), 6-4 at #2 singles while De Faber-Schumacher dug deep for a 4-6, 7-6 (6), 10-5 comeback win from the #6 singles position.
Senior
Maanya Viswanath opened strong with a 6-0 win the first set, however dropped a third set tie-breaker to Kate Nova at the No. 5 singles position.
The Bison (6-6) have now won four in a row.
Next up, Siena takes on Lehigh (2-3) in nonconference action for a quick turnaround on Saturday at 5 p.m.
