Siena Women's Tennis closed out their three-day Pennsylvania road swing with a 1-2 record after falling to Temple 6-1 on Sunday at the Hecht Tennis Center on Penn's campus.
A day after winning a 10-point super tiebreaker, senior
Maanya Viswanath won for the second consecutive day with some dramatics by rallying back to earn a 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory against Thamara Frasser Kawaratani at the singles #3 spot.
The Owls (7-1) featured the No. 8 ranked doubles pairing of Maiko Uchijima and Jamie Wei, who beat
Meagan Brown and
Alexa Wilson 6-0 from the #1 doubles flight.
Reegan Mullaney and Viswanth dropped their #2 doubles flight to Evie Wei and Veronika Kulhava for the doubles point.
In other singles play, Wilson pushed a tie-breaker set, but ultimately fell 7-6 (10-8), 6-4 to Kulhava at the #2 spot while Brown,
Madeline De Faber-Schumacher lost in straight sets.
Jade Gautier and
Shelby Madeiros fell in eight-game sets.
Next up, Siena (4-7) travels to Binghamton to take on the Bearcats (0-14) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
