The Siena Women's Tennis team began their weekend with a 6-1 nonconference defeat at UMass on Saturday afternoon at Bay Road Indoor Tennis Center.
In singles play, the Saints (0-2) picked up a defaulted victory at the #6 position, but dropped their other five single court matches.
Junior Alexa Wilson and graduate student Meagan Brown gave Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertakul the Minutewomen (1-1) their toughest challenge at the #1 doubles spot with a 6-4 decision. Wilson pushed Jonglertakul the most of any of the singles match ups with a 6-3, 6-3 loss from the #4 position.
Siena will return home to host Rhode Island (2-1) on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. from the Tri-City Fitness Center.
