In a match that came down to the wire, it was
Jose Pablo Davila's rally to win a third set tiebreaker from the singles number four position that sealed a 4-3 victory for Siena Men's Tennis against Sacred Heart University on Friday night at Tri-City Fitness.
The Saints (7-6 overall) remained undefeated at home, pushing their record to 4-0.
Siena was put in position to win from its' strong singles play, gaining victories as well from freshman
Edward Vo, and juniors
Agustin Suarez and
Dante Russo.
Vo improved to 10-0 in singles play in team matches this season, earning another win from the #5 position by topping Darius Eftekhar 6-0, 6-3.
Suarez defeated Alberto Melo 6-2, 6-4 while Russo took care of Lefteri Apostolou 6-4, 6-2.
Tomas Del Olmo and Davila earned the only victory from double plays for the Saints, notching a 6-3 triumph against Matyas Vencl and Eftekhar.
Siena will next open conference play against Mount St. Mary's (2-7) on Sunday at 5 p.m. from the Hershey Racquet Club in Hershey, PA.
