Richmond Completes Series Sweep of Siena Baseball

Spiders Finish Off Saints in Seven

Richmond scored multiple runs in three of the first five innings to complete the three-game weekend sweep of Siena Baseball 14-0 in seven innings in Virginia.
 
Richmond (10-10) scored three times in the first, and pulled away with a six-run fourth. Jake Elbeery led the attack with three hits, two runs scored, and a pair of RBI, while four additional Spiders added a pair of hits apiece.
 
Danny Barbero, Aiden Stewart, Vincent DiNicola, and Vincenzo Castronovo accounted for the four Siena (2-16) hits. Richie Paltridge pitched a clean inning of relief with a pair of strikeouts.
 
The Saints make their 2023 Empire State debut Tuesday when they take on Fordham in non-conference action at 3 p.m. in the Bronx.
