Meagan Brown and senior
Maanya Viswanath were honored with a Senior Day celebration of accomplishments with the program, Siena Women's Tennis placed a punctuation mark in the evening by powering past St. Bonaventure 6-1 at Tri-City Fitness on Friday to claim a nonconference win.
The Saints (7-9) were clutch when it mattered, winning three of four matches that went the distance of three sets in singles play. Brown outlasted Alexandra Jansson 7-6 (4), 5-7, 11-9 at the #1 position,
Alexa Wilson rallied back for a 5-7, 6-2, 10-3 win against Anastaia Gubanova at the #3 spot while Viswanath pulled out a 6-0, 1-6, 12-10 marathon victory over Sienna Smith from spot #4.
Laia Giralt was the lone Saint to win in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0, against Amelia Haley.
Freshman
Madeline De Faber-Schumacher improved to a team-best record of 11-3 in singles play this season by earning a 6-3, 6-4 win over fellow freshman Kelly Barnes at the singles #6 position.
Siena picked up the doubles point by winning two of three matches from the duos of Wilson/ Brown, and
Emma Boggiali/
Laia Giralt, who both won by scores of 6-4.
Siena will host Monmouth (4-11) on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. at Tri-City Fitness in Latham.
