Long-standing Record Falls to Begin Outdoor Track Season

Olden Sets Men’s 10,000 School Record at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, NC – Siena Cross Country & Track senior Brandon Olden is at it again. The Chestertown, New York native now owns five individual school records after setting the 10,000-meter mark Friday evening.

Members of the Siena Outdoor Track team headed south to the Derr Track & Field Complex to kick off the third and final season of the year at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday and Friday in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Olden's time of 29:46.77 allowed him to surpass the longtime record of 29:50 held by Siena Athletic Hall of Fame member Tom Dalton in 1979.

Thursday's action featured senior Aidan Gillooley run a time of 14:35.84 in the 5,000, while classmate Tommy Anderson clocked a time of 9:14.13 in the 3,000 steeplechase to place 40th in the event.

Fifth year Olivia Lomascolo finished 43rd in the women's 5,000 with a time of 16:34.82, while senior Olivia McDade Clay ran a time of 17:56.78.

The rest of the Saints will commence outdoor track action on Saturday, March 25 at the Monmouth Season Opener in West Long Branch, New Jersey.
