Siena Women's Tennis was all business on Saturday as the Saints swept Binghamton 7-0 at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center.
Siena had three players who won twice on the day including
Meagan Brown,
Alexa Wilson and
Emma Boggiali.
The Saints got things started quickly by notching a win from
Shelby Madeiros, who teamed with Boggiali, to take the doubles #3 flight. Then, Brown and Wilson combined to win the #1 doubles flight 6-3 against Abby Ackroyd and Natalia Aruj to secure the doubles point.
Brown bounced back in singles play. After dropping the first set 6-3 to Aruj at the #1 singles position, the fifth-year native of Elk River, MN cemented the victory with a pair of 6-3 wins in the second and third set.
Wilson won by those identical scores of 6-3, 6-3 to best Caterina Casadei from the singles #3 spot.
Boggiali swept Bridget Martin at the singles #5 spot, winning 6-0, 6-0 to claim the win in 37 minutes.
Laia Giralt returned back to the singles #2 spot and won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, over Lara Kaplan.
Senior Maanya Viswanth needed three sets to best Ackroyd by the scores of 6-1, 2-6, 6-2.
The Bearcats fell to 0-15.
Siena (5-7) returns home to the Tri-City Fitness Tennis Center to take on Colgate (5-3) of the Patriot League on Sunday at 1:45 p.m.
