Brown Breaks Doubles Wins Record, Saints Win Fourth Straight

Siena tops Marist; moves to 2-0 in MAAC play

Fifth-year student-athlete Meagan Brown made history on Sunday night by becoming the all-time leader in Siena's Women's Tennis program history in career doubles wins and the Saints' singles depth showed out in a 5-2 MAAC victory against Marist at Tri-City Fitness.

Junior Alexa Wilson, senior Maanya Viswanath and junior Emma Boggiali all had two wins on the night and Siena stayed hot by winning its fourth straight match to climb all the way back to .500 on the season at 9-9 overall while also improving to 2-0 in conference play.

Brown and Wilson paired once together to earn a 6-2 win over Jane Bockman and Cloe Clements at the doubles #1 flight.

In doing so, Brown passed Ali Garrity (2013-2017) for most doubles wins all-time in program history with 54.

Maanya Viswanath and Reegan Mullaney topped Ellen Zureick and Andriana Zaphiris 6-1 at number two while Laia Giralt/Emma Boggiali bested Isabella Tonuzi and Akanksha Sreenivas 6-3 to earn the doubles point.

Wilson earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at the singles #3 position over Zureick.

Viswanath and Boggiali each won in straight sets from the fourth and fifth positions in singles competition and Madeline De Faber-Schumacher tacked on another victory from the sixth spot.

The Red Foxes dropped to 6-8 overall and 2-1 in MAAC play.

Next, Siena will play Fairfield (6-7, 2-0 MAAC) in conference action on Tuesday at noon from the WAC Tennis Courts in Fairfield, Conn.
