Siena Women's Tennis jumped in front of Quinnipiac by taking two of three doubles matches for the point, but was not able to sustain their success throughout singles competition as the Saints dropped its MAAC match to Quinnipiac 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at Central Park in Schenectady.
The Saints took the early lead when
Laia Giralt and
Emma Boggiali paired to defeat Claire Koscielski and Vera Sekerina 6-2 from the third flight and then
Meagan Brown and
Alexa Wilson teamed to beat Alessia Truden and Kamila Nella 6-4 to secure the doubles' point at the first position.
In singles play, Siena (9-11, 2-2 MAAC) dropped all matches with the exception of
Madeline De Faber-Schumacher, who won from the singles #6 spot over Nikole Lisovyy 2-6, 6-3, 7-5.
Quinnipiac (11-8, 4-0 MAAC) has won five in a row and improved to 5-5 on the road this season.
Next, Siena will play at Rider at 12:45 p.m. in conference action on Friday from Lawrenceville, NJ.
