LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Men's Tennis added a chapter to its historic season of firsts when the Saints learned that it would be playing nationally-ranked No. 11 Harvard (19-5) in the Opening Round of the 2023 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament on Friday at 2 PM in Cambridge, Ma. at the Beren Tennis Courts.
It was revealed on Monday night's NCAA Men's Tennis Selection Show on NCAA.com.
For the Saints (13-10), it marks its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament after it won its first MAAC Men's Tennis Championship last Sunday with a 4-0 victory against the MAAC's top seed Fairfield at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ.
It also rallied from an 0-3 deficit to top No. 2 Quinnipiac 4-3 on the day prior. Both teams had defeated Siena during the regular season.
The Crimson Tide are coming off back-to-back Ivy League Championships in which they went undefeated at 7-0 in conference play in consecutive years for the first time since the 2003-2004 seasons.
Also, playing in the bracket's pod will be Illinois (19-11) taking on Arizona State (13-11).
The winners of each match will play on Saturday at 2 PM.
