FAIRFAX, VA – Even as his collegiate career as a Siena Saint winds down,
Brandon Olden is still finding ways to break records. The Chestertown, New York native now owns another top program time as the Saints began action at the 2023 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track Championships in Fairfax, Virginia on Saturday.
Olden clocked a time of 3:44.37 to place fifth in the men's 1,500 and set the school record in the event by four seconds, besting the previous best mark run by program legend
Evans Kibet in 2018.
Through one day of action for the program and two days total in the annual regional meet, the Siena men sit in a tie for 16
th place with nine points, while the women are in tenth with 21 points.
Siena also nearly had an ECAC Outdoor Track champion in the women's 1,500, with fifth year
Olivia Lomascolo finishing in second by just under two seconds with a time of 4:25.58.
The women's team featured three runners score in the 3,000, with senior
Elaine Atanasova (9:49.69) taking third, classmate
Sophia Vinciguerra (9:57.02) placing fifth, and sophomore
Julia Caputo (10:04.00) taking sixth. Men's junior
Ryan Shanahan took home fourth place in his respective race with a time of 8:28.71.
Siena will wrap action at the 2023 ECAC/IC4A Championships on Sunday, May 14 with the running of the 4x800 and 4x400 relays.
