Siena Star Ran 10k as First Woman in Program History to Qualify

LOUDONVILLE, NY – They say that all good things must come to an end, and for Siena Cross Country & Track's female program, an era was undoubtedly ended on Thursday evening.

Siena fifth year Olivia Lomascolo wrapped up arguably the best career by a female runner in program history by running in the women's 10k at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track East First Round at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Ballston Lake, New York native placed 42nd with a time of 35:45.42, finishing ahead of runners from Penn State, Louisiana, Villanova, Charlotte, Kentucky, and Georgetown. Lomascolo became the first female runner in program history to qualify for the event.

Record-breaking counterpart Brandon Olden will take part in the men's 5k tomorrow at 8:10 PM in The Sunshine State.
