Siena Women's Tennis kicked off the 2023 fall portion of its' season in the Skidmore Invitational at the new McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center on Friday night in Saratoga Springs.
On day one of action, the Saints were pitted in doubles action against the host Thoroughbreds as well as Middlebury.
Siena picked up two victories on the night. Senior
Alexa Wilson and junior
Laia Giralt teamed up at the #1 position to top the Skidmore combination of Grace Troung and Konika Dhull 8-3.
From the number four position, sophomore
Madeline De Faber-Schumacher and junior
Jade Gautier earned their first victory of the season with an 8-3 triumph over Coco Prokop and Suhani Sabharwal.
The Saints endured a tough night overall with four defeats versus Middlebury and two others versus Skidmore.
The team will have an opportunity to bounce back during the middle day of competition at the Skidmore Invite beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Siena will start with singles play scheduled against Skidmore and Middlebury followed by doubles play against Union with an estimated start time of 1 p.m. and against Hamilton at 3 p.m.
