BETHLEHEM, PA – Siena Cross Country continued its 2023 season at the storied Paul Short Run on the Lehigh University Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Saturday.
The men featured competitors in the Open 8k and the College Gold 8k, while the women took part in the Open 6k and the College Brown 6k.
Junior
Jackson Cayward led the men with a 53
rd place finish and a time of 24:45.1, while senior
Killian McNamee ran a time of 25:24.1. Sophomore
Tyler Greene (25:29.0), junior
Chris Bertola (25:59.7), and senior
Christopher DeForest (26:06.4) rounded out the team's top-five finishers in the Gold 8k, in which they finished 26
th out of 43 programs. Senior
Jimmy Smith (26:45.3) led the Saints in the Open 8k.
The women took fifth place in the Brown 6k, with graduate student
Madeline Hesler placing 12
th with a time of 22:05.1. Junior
Julia Caputo took 26
th at 22:26.5, While senior
Katharine Hesler also finished inside the top-50 at 47
th with a time of 22:47.2. Junior
Keira Flaherty (23:02.9) and junior
Claire Gardner (23:08.5) rounded out the top-five finishers for the team. Junior
Christina Peppy (24:06.7) was the top Siena finisher in the Open 6k.
Both teams will continue fall action at the 2023 IC4A/ECAC Cross Country Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, New York on Friday, October 13.
