LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) released its annual Preseason Coaches' Poll and Preseason All-MAAC selections ahead of the start of the 2024 water polo season on Thursday morning.
Siena Water Polo was selected eighth in the poll after finishing 5-23 overall and 1-12 in league action last season.
Defending MAAC champion LIU and perennial league power Wagner tied atop the poll with 76 votes apiece, with the Sharks garnering five first place votes and the Seahawks earning the other four. Marist took third with 64 votes, while Iona and La Salle tied for fourth with 45 ballots each. Mount St. Mary's (35) and Villanova (28) came in just ahead of the Green and Gold, who took home 25 votes to top VMI (11).
LIU's Paola Dominguez Castro was named the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, while Wagner's Francesca Sena was honored as the Preseason Goalie of the Year.

Alex Williams, Siena returns ten letterwinners from last season while adding ten incoming freshmen. The Saints are set to begin the 23
rd varsity season in program history February 3-4 at the Bruno Classic in Providence, Rhode Island and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
