The Saints began the home week with their largest win of the year thus far, using a monster 49-point second half to take a 79-58 win over Rider. Junior Anajah Brown posted a career-best 21 points with a double-double for the second straight game in 21 points and 13 rebounds, while sophomore Elisa Mevius added 16 points and tied a career high with seven steals, and London Gamble went in double figures for the fourth time this season with 15 points and added nine boards. Siena shot a season-best 58 percent in the second half while holding a 45-28 rebound advantage. The night also featured the first collegiate points from freshman Esther Rodellar.

Siena will look to get to at least 5-3 to start MAAC play for the third time in as many seasons in the current stint of head coach Jim Jabir. The Green and Gold have enjoyed at least five wins in each of the past two January slates under Coach Jabir, who picked up his 550th career victory on Thursday as one of 26 active NCAA Division I women's coaches with as many wins.

Continuing the program's 50th varsity season, Mevius and Brown continue to rank at or near the top of the MAAC and among the national leaders in multiple statistical categories. Mevius leads the league and is second nationally in steals per-game (4.33) third nationally in total steals (65), and 35th nationally in minutes per-game (35.48). The Rendsburg, Germany native is also third in the league in assists (4.2). Brown leads the league in both blocks per-game (1.5) and total blocks (24). Mevius' steals mark represents the most swipes by a Siena player since 2000 through 15 games, while her 63 assists are the seventh-most. Brown's blocks are good for the second-most by a Siena player during that time.

Siena and Iona will square off for the 78th time since 1980, with the Green and Gold owning a 44-33 advantage in the series. Siena looks for revenge over the team that ended its season last year, with the Gaels winning a battle in the MAAC Semifinals and also taking home a sweep during the regular season. Having won six of the last eight matchups, Iona erased a late 16 point deficit en-route to winning the MAAC title last year. The Gaels also narrowly missed the NCAA single game record for field goal percentage by shooting 75.5 percent from the field in a 91-64 win on February 16, 2023. Coach Jabir is 1-5 all-time against Iona over his 36-year head coaching career, with his lone win over the Gaels coming in the form of his first win in his return to Loudonville on January 10, 2022.

Led by first year head coach Angelika Szumilo, Iona took home a 68-62 win over Saint Peter's on its Kids Day Thursday morning, but has dropped five of its last seven contests. Graduate student Natalia Otkhemezuri leads the team in scoring with 11.9 points per-game, while graduate transfer Sierra DeAngelo adds 11.2 points and a team-high 6.1 rebounds per-contest. Iona ranks 67th nationally in three-point percentage at 34.5 percent and 54th nationally with a 75.6 percentage from the free throw line.
