STATEN ISLAND, NY – Siena Indoor Track recorded a school record for the first time during the 2023-24 season, highlighting action at the NYC Gotham Cup Friday afternoon at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York.
The team of junior
Keira Flaherty, senior
Gabby DeAngelis, junior
Claire Gardner, and graduate student
Madeleine Hesler ran a time of 4:03.25 to set the program record in the women's 4x400 relay by just under seven seconds.
Both Siena programs saw success in each team's respective running of the 1,000 with Gardner (2:52.52), Hesler (2:53.94), and Flaherty (2:56.10) finishing 2-3-4 for the women and fifth year
Matthew Laframboise finishing fifth with a solid time of 2:26.39.
Sophomore
Tyler Greene (4:17.44) and fifth year
Tommy Anderson (4:18.24) took second and third, respectively, in the men's mile, while junior
Julia Caputo steadied the women in the mile with a time of 5:06.91.
Senior
Katharine Hesler (10:12.52) posted a second-place finish in the women's 3,000, while the men's 4x800 team of Greene, senior
Ben Guerin, Laframboise, and Anderson claimed the top spot with a time of 7:58.53.
Siena's indoor track season continues at the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston, Massachusetts January 26-27.
