The Saints will look to get back in the win column after opening the new year with a 60-53 Kids Day road loss at Manhattan on Thursday. The contest featured a season-high 19 points from senior Ahniysha Jackson, as well as 15 points from Teresa Seppala.

Siena will look to get to at least 2-2 to start MAAC play for the third time in as many seasons in the current stint of head coach Jim Jabir. The Green and Gold have enjoyed at least five wins in each of the past two January slates under Coach Jabir.

Continuing the program's 50th varsity season, Sophomore Elisa Mevius and junior Anajah Brown continue to rank at or near the top of the MAAC and among the national leaders in multiple statistical categories. Mevius leads the league and is third nationally in steals per-game (3.8), 12th nationally in total steals (42), and 48th nationally in minutes per-game (34.9). Brown is second in the MAAC in blocks per-game (1.4) and third in total blocks (15). Mevius' steals mark represents the most swipes by a Siena player since 2000 through 11 games, while Brown is tied for the sixth-most blocks through nine contests by a Siena player since 2000.

Winners of three straight against the Peacocks, Siena earned the series sweep last year beginning with a monster 94-45 victory at home on January 14, with the Saints recording the most points in a game since 2001 and the largest margin of victory in a contest since 1994. Sophomore Teresa Seppala went for what is still her career high with 24 points, while also recording 18 points in the teams' most recent meeting. Siena has won 12 straight home meetings over Saint Peter's dating back to 2010, while head coach Jim Jabir is 4-3 all-time against them over the course of his 36-year coaching career.

After going 0-30 in head coach Jennifer Leedham's first year at the helm of the program, Saint Peter's snapped a 32-game losing streak in November and is 4-8 on the season, including a conference win over Rider. The Peacocks lead the league in free throws made per-game with just over 11, and rank second with 8.7 steals per-contest. Freshman Fatmata Janneh ranks second in the conference with five double-doubles thus far this season, while sophomore Jada Leonard leads the team with 12.8 points per-game and ranks fourth in the MAAC with 1.91 steals per-outing.
