Caputo Named MAAC Student-Athlete of the Week

Canton, CT native continues to perform on high level on the course and in the classroom

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Senior Julia Caputo has been named the MAAC Female Student-Athlete of the Week by the conference office on Wednesday. 

The senior from Canton, CT excelled both in her field of sport as well as in the classroom. 

Caputo, who was named to the President' List for the 2023-2024 school year, carried a 3.92 GPA into the fall semester as a Health Studies Health Science major.

Caputo has been a top honors student since joining the program in 2021-22, earning two MAAC All-Academic Team honors and three MAAC Academic Honor Roll nods.  Additionally, she was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Track & Field Team over the previous calendar year. 

On the Siena Women's Cross-Country team, Caputo placed the highest among her teammates and fifth place overall among 258 competitors in last Friday's IC4A/ECAC Cross Country Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.  Her time of 21:12.4 was just seven seconds off her personal record in the 6K race that she had set about a month earlier in the Jasper Fall XC Invitational. 

Caputo will be preparing for the MAAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 2 at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, NY hosted by Manhattan University.
