LOUDONVILLE, NY – The 2025 schedule for Siena Women's Lacrosse was announced on Tuesday with a 16-game regular season on tap with a seven-game home slate beginning with the season opener hosting Binghamton on Saturday, February 15 at 11 a.m. at Hickey Field.
The 29
th women's lacrosse varsity season will feature four games versus opponents who qualified for last season's NCAA Tournament including the America East Champion Bearcats, at-large bids from Drexel from the Colonial Athletic Conference and Fairfield of the MAAC as well as the MAAC Champions Niagara.
The Saints, who enter year two under head coach
Danielle Schwan-Tetreault, will look to build upon a record-setting season last year in which Siena won a program single-season record 13 games and notched its first win against a Top-25 IWLCA ranked opponent against then #18 Army West Point last February.
Siena starts up competition with an exhibition game at Boston University on Feb. 1 and will follow up with the season opener hosting Binghamton two weeks later where the Saints have enjoyed a decisive 31-8 home record during the 2020's decade (.795 winning percentage).
As has been the case in many recent seasons, Siena will be playing a competitive schedule and it plays 11 teams that had a .500 or better record last season including a stretch where the first seven opponents hold that mark.
The Saints will make its first road trip of the regular season at Army West Point of the Patriot League on Feb. 22 in a much-anticipated rematch and then will head north to play at Dartmouth of the Ivy League on Saturday, Feb. 25.
This marks the third consecutive season in which Siena has played these teams, earning a split in each of the previous two years.
A pair of America East opponents will travel to the Capital Region when UMass-Lowell plays at Siena on March 1 followed by a visit from Vermont on March 5.
The Saints and Riverhawks last met in 2016 while the Saints and Catamounts will be playing for the 21
st time in the past 25 seasons.
Siena opens a three-game road stand in Philadelphia, Pa to play at Drexel on March 8, then a trip to Central New York to play at Le Moyne for a midweek Wednesday game on March 12 in Syracuse and then a visit to Hamilton to play at Colgate on Tuesday, March 18.
Conference play begins with a home match up against Fairfield on Saturday, March 22, and a road trip to Emmitsburg, MD to play at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, March 29.
Manhattan will come to Loudonville for a mid-week matinee on Wednesday, April 2. In between, the Green & Gold plays at new MAAC member Sacred Heart on Saturday, April 5 and then returns home to take on I-87 rival Marist for another Wednesday game on April 9.
Back-to-back road games at Iona on Saturday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 16 at new MAAC member Merrimack are scheduled before Senior Day back at Hickey Field when Siena hosts Niagara on Saturday, April 19 in a rematch of last year's MAAC Semifinal that was decided by one goal.
