Mens Rugby Season Review

As the final whistle blew on the last match of the season, there was an overwhelming sense of missed opportunity. Despite all the hard work, the commitment, and the flashes of brilliance on the field, we fell short of our goal: securing a place in the playoffs.

The season started with optimism, and there were moments throughout that showcased the potential of the squad which is now in transition.
Siena came up against a formidable Brown side who themselves were just coming together. A 22-11 loss doesn't speak to the performance that was put out by Siena, who had opportunities to make it a closer game.
Key games that could have defined our playoff hopes saw us fall short, a controversial end to a tight game at AIC and a lackluster performance at Dartmouth certainly stunted our progress.
While we are disappointed to miss out on playoffs, it speaks volumes to how far the men's team has come since 2022. Our standards at this point would be to make playoffs at Division 1 which is a far cry from small college rugby.

The team must look ahead with a renewed sense of purpose as we begin progress towards fall 2025. There is a lot of promise in the squad, and with the right preparation, discipline, and mental strength, we can be contenders next season. The team will regroup, learn from the mistakes of this campaign, and come back stronger.

The playoffs might have eluded us this time, but the journey doesn't end here. Siena Men's team made it to the Rhino Bowl final at 12pm CST - 1pm EST - and a viewing party will now by 12:30pm EST
