Siena Women's Tennis saw a tough day on the courts, getting swept 7-0 against Temple on Saturday at the Hecht Tennis Center.
Saints' No. 1 singles player and junior
Laia Giralt got off to a fast start, taking the opening set 6-1 against Owls' sophomore Thamara Frasser Kawaratani.
Giralt, a native of Sant Cugat, Spain, fought valiantly throughout before dropping the following sets 7-5 and 6-3.
Giralt is now 5-5 on the season in singles' play.
The Owls (1-2) were able to win the remaining matches in straight sets.
The Saints (0-3) will have a tight turnaround and play at Drexel on Sunday at 11 a.m.
