Men’s 1,000 and Mile Record Fall to Conclude Valentine Invitational

Siena Indoor Track’s Laframboise, Greene Cap Weekend with School Records

BOSTON, MA – Good things usually happen when Siena Indoor Track travels east to Boston for a winter meet. Saturday's final day of action at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational saw a pair of records fall for the Saints' men's squad at the BU Track & Tennis Complex.

Fifth year Matthew Laframboise set a new mark in the men's 1,000 with a time of 2:24.97 to finish 16th and break the previous best mark of 2:25.14 run by Luciano Fiore in 2019. Sophomore Tyler Greene clocked a time of 4:07.60 to break the men's mile record previously run by Brandon Olden in 2022.

The team also featured junior Luke Tkaczyk and senior Ben Guerin in the mile with times of 4:14.20 and 4:15.39, respectively, while fifth year Tommy Anderson ran a mark of 8:26.05 in the 3,000.

Following a weekend that brought three total school records, Siena will continue indoor track action at the Deneault Invitational in Ithaca, New York on Saturday, February 17.
