LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Lacrosse freshman midfielder
Elizabeth Wamp was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon after her clutch performance this past Saturday in helping the Saints earn its' first win in program history against an IWLCA Top-25 ranked opponent in defeating #18 Army West Point 12-11 on her winning goal with 2:43 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Wamp scored two goals on the day including the goal that provided to be the difference.
The Skaneateles, NY native took a shot that appeared to be initially saved by Black Knights' goalkeeper Anderson Strange, however the ball trickled away from her and into the net in what became the winning goal.
The Berkshire High graduate and 2023 US Lacrosse All-American scooped up a ground ball as well.
Siena (1-1) returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Dartmouth (0-1) at 2 p.m.
The Big Green lost at #11 Stony Brook 18-11 this past Sunday.
