The Siena Women's Lacrosse team's late first half lead did not hold as the Saints were downed on the road at Binghamton 15-9 on Wednesday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
Redshirt junior
Jordan Bentley provided Siena (2-3) with a brief 5-4 advantage on an unassisted goal with 1:42 remaining in the second quarter, but Binghamton's Olivia Muscolino was able to draw it even at 5-5 on a goal with just 26 seconds to go in the half.
Outshot 26-14 for shots on goal for the game and 35-26 in total shots, the Saints were outscored 10-4 in the second half.
Siena would cut the deficit down to 10-8 with 3:51 remaining in the third quarter on a goal by junior
Meghan Decker on a feed in front of the net off the stick of junior attack
Grace Dobrzynski.
Dobrzynski led the Saints with one goal and a game-high five assists, while Bentley added two goals and an assist.
Rebecca Gilhooley and
Kelly Logue each added two goals apiece.
Sabrina Krasner made 11 saves.
The Bearcats improved to 3-2.
Siena will return home to host Le Moyne (1-2) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hickey Field.
The Dolphins fell to Niagara 20-8 on Wednesday.
