Siena completed the program's first six-game win streak in seven years with a 74-57 victory at Iona Thursday evening to complete its first season sweep over a conference opponent this season. Junior Anajah Brown took over the game for a career-high 33 points, and finished with a double-double thanks to ten boards. Sophomore Elisa Mevius registered her first-ever double-double consisting of points and assists with 13 and 11, while adding seven rebounds and six steals. Siena won despite being out-shot for the second straight game, but held definitive advantages in rebounding (42-27), points in the paint (48-32), and points off turnovers (27-9).

Brown's 33-point outburst against Iona on February 8 was good for only the 15th single-game performance of 33 points or more in program history, and just the fourth this millennium. It was the first single-game output of 33 points since 2017, and the second 30-point performance by a Saint this season.

The Green and Gold started 7-3 in the MAAC in consecutive seasons for the first time since the 2001-02 and 2002-03 campaigns., and have started 9-3 in the league for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign. Siena will look to start 10-3 or better for the first time since the 2001-02 season, and will look for its first seven-game win streak since winning ten straight during the 2002-03 campaign.

The Saints have recorded 70 points or more in each of the last seven games, and have gone over 40 points in the second half in each of those games. This marks the team's longest such streak with 70+ points since the 2000-01 campaign, and tied for the fourth-longest streak in program history. The Green and Gold have also shot 40 percent or better from the floor in nine straight games.

Siena has had at least one player finish in double-figure scoring in 127 straight contests dating back to a 52-48 loss at Manhattan on 2/3/19.

Continuing the program's 50th varsity season, Mevius and Brown continue to rank at or near the top of the MAAC and among the national leaders in multiple statistical categories. Mevius leads the league and is second nationally in steals per-game (4.35), third nationally in total steals (87), and 39th nationally in minutes per-game (35.4). The Rendsburg, Germany native also now leads the league in assists per-game (4.6) and is second in the MAAC in total assists (93). Brown leads the league in both blocks per-game (1.65) and total blocks (33). Mevius is currently sixth all-time in single-season history in steals, and is now 12 away from setting the single-season record. She has also recorded the second-most assists by a Siena player through 20 games in the last 23 years, while Brown is tied for the second-most blocks over that time.

Aiming for its second sweep of a conference opponent this season, Siena enters its 23rd all-time meeting with Quinnipiac since 2014, with the Bobcats holding a 19-3 all-time advantage in the series. Siena will aim for its first-ever home win and its first-ever season sweep against the Bobcats following a definitive 78-60 win in Hamden on January 27. The Saints' third-ever win in the series featured 20 points from senior Ahnyisha Jackson, 17 from sophomore Teresa Seppala, 14 from Brown, and ten from Mevius. Siena shot 44.8 percent from the field and held a 42-33 rebound advantage. Head Coach Jim Jabir is 1-4 all-time against the Bobcats over his 36-year coaching career, with all five prior meetings coming while head coach of the Saints.

Currently tied for fifth in the league standings, Quinnipiac has enjoyed three straight wins over Marist, Rider, and Iona after dropping four straight. Starting four freshmen and a junior as one of the youngest teams in the nation, the Bobcats are just 4-7 on the road this season under 29th year head coach Tricia Fabbri. Freshman Karson Martin leads the team in scoring with 12.1 points per-game, while reigning MAAC Player and Rookie of the Week Anna Foley averages 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per-contest. QU averages 60.3 points per-game, and commits a league-low 15-7 turnovers per-contest.
