Siena Baseball mounted a three-run eighth inning rally but it wasn't quite enough as Stony Brook completed the series sweep with a 4-3 victory out on Long Island. The Seawolves won all three games by one run apiece.
 
Stony Brook (7-7) pieced together a 4-0 advantage through seven. Cam Santerre led the charge with a pair of hits and three runs scored, while Matt Brown-Eiring and Ryan Micheli added two hits apiece.
 
Freshman Nicholas Rizzo dominated for seven shutout innings, scattering three hits while walking just one and striking out four, but Siena (0-12) would get to the bullpen in the eighth.
 
With two outs and the bases loaded, Danny Barbero came through in the clutch with a two-run single to halve the deficit. Austin Rachiele then lined a shot into the gap in left to bring home one run and chase Barbero to the plate. But Rachiele was cut down at third for the final out, just before Barbero was able to cross home with the potential tying run.
 
The Saints stay in the Northeast to open the week and continue non-conference action when they take on ACC foe Boston College Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
