Matt Bergevin scored on a passed ball with one out in the 10
th inning as three-time defending MAAC Regular Season Champion Fairfield walked off on Siena Baseball 5-4 in the middle game of the series.
Bergevin was involved in all five Fairfield (22-20, 12-2) runs, hitting two-run home runs in consecutive at-bats in the fourth and sixth innings to erase a four-run deficit.
Siena (8-31, 4-10) had built a 4-0 lead in the fourth, scoring all of their runs with two outs.
Gunnar Meland scored on an error to open the scoring in the third, before the Saints put up a three-spot in the fourth.
Willie Schwarick delivered a two-run single and
Kobe Stenson added an RBI single to extend the lead.
Schwarick and
Nick Bergamotto led Siena with two hits apiece.
The Saints will look to salvage the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
