LOUDONVILLE, NY – For the second straight day, the top-two hitters in the Marist order, Ethan Conrad and Bayram Hot, did damage to lead the Red Foxes to a series-clinching 10-1 victory at Connors Park.
Conrad registered three hits and scored four times while Hot added three hits of his own while knocking in six to propel Marist (16-32, 10-13). Hot finished a home run shy of a cycle, while the duo combined to add three stolen bases.
Jack Wren no-hit Siena (9-38, 5-15) through five, until
Noah Brooks led off the six by legging out a double that deflected off the third base bag. Wren finished with seven, one-hit shutout innings to earn his first win of the season for the Red Foxes.
The Saints mustered three hits total, two of which came from Brooks. Siena scored its only run in the eighth on a fielder's choice.
The Saints will look to salvage the series Sunday. First pitch is set for a special time of 3 p.m., following Siena College Commencement exercises in the morning.
