Emma Boggiali and
Laia Giralt were named onto 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, who recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
In the classroom, Boggiali achieved a cumulative 3.93 GPA and graduated with a degree in Business this past Sunday.
On the court, the Rome, Italy native was named to the All-MAAC Second Team at the singles #4 position after a 10-8 overall record including 4-1 in MAAC play.
Boggiali was also was named to the All-MAAC Second Team at the #3 doubles position with her teammate
Zaara Omar after compiling a 4-1 record inside conference play.
This is her second straight CSC Academic All-District Women's Tennis team selection.
Boggiali was a member of the MAAC All-Academic Team and was also named the Leo Dufort Student-Athlete of the Month in January 2023.
Giralt achieved a 3.66 GPA while majoring in Data Science. The Sant Cugat, Spain native had the most victories on the team, earning 14 singles victories and 11 individual doubles victories.
The junior was named as an All-MAAC First Team selection at the singles #2 position where she went 5-1 in MAAC play.
Giralt also earned All-MAAC First Team honors at the doubles #1 spot with teammate
Alexa Wilson where the pair held a 9-2 record including 5-0 in conference competition.
Giralt was also a member of the MAAC All-Academic Team as well as an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 4.
Voting for the Academic All-America tennis teams begins Tuesday, May 14, at noon ET and closes Tuesday, May 21, at 11:59 pm ET.
All CSC members are eligible to vote on the ballots in their division.
