Siena Women's Golf capped off its season-opening tournament on Tuesday with its best score of the two-day, three-round Sacred Heart Fall Classic. The Saints shot +33 on the par-72 Great River Golf Club course to place 6th overall at +115 (979 strokes).
Jillian Barend turned in a brilliant performance on Tuesday, shooting +2 for the day. She capped off her outing with three birdies on the back nine. The senior took home an individual top-10 finish as well, placing seventh in the 44-player field at +15 overall.
Mackenzie Whitney and
Emely Kintzel just missed out on top-10 performances as well, finishing in a tie for 11th shooting +21. Whitney shot her lowest score of the tournament on Tuesday at +4 and put together a pair of birdie holes. Kintzel shot +8 in round three while teammate
Isabella Silva shot +19 for her lowest round of the SHU Fall Classic (+58 overall).
The Saints return to action on Monday, September 23 at the Red Bandanna Invitational hosted by Boston College. The two-day tournament will be played at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Massachusetts.
